OCCUPY THE HEART, EDUCATE THE MIND

MOVEMENT SPAWNS PLAY FESTIVAL

Written By PT Rothschild

Boyle Heights, LA - Now running thru February 26, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, the Little Casa Theater located at 2009 E. First Street, LA. 90033, is the CASA 0101 presentation of Occupy The Heart. This new play festival features short skits written and performed by various individuals in this talented ensemble to tell the Occupy [LA] story from an 'on the ground' POV. As a person who covered the LA and SD camps, I decided to see what these playwrights wrought after spotting the ad in the Brooklyn & Boyle, a neighborhood print newspaper.

MURRIETA: local woman found trespassing on Kenny Chesney's property, get arrested

Melissa Mansfield
Nashville, Tennessee - A woman, Melissa Carol Mansfield, of Murrieta California was arrested early Wednsday morning for trespassing and public intoxication after taking a limo to Country Music Superstar Kenny Chesney's home 25 miles south of Nashville, Tennessee.

Mansfield was found by local police after 2am Wednesday, in the bathroom near Kenny Chesney's pool drinking wine according to reports. She had apparently snuck around the perimeter gate according to police.

According to police, Mansfield claims to have a relationship with Kenny Chesney, however a representative of Chesney has said this is not true. Mr Chesney was not home at the time according to the reports.

Mansfield was booked into Williamson County Jail, released on a $1000 bond and is to report to Williamson County court on Thursday February 23 2012.

Political Notes: Paule says Melendez chooses Los Angeles Interests over Inland Empire Voters

Menifee, California - Phil Paule's campaign sent out the following press release hitting his opponent hard on local control, specifically Ontario Airport leaving the control of Los Angeles. Read on:

Stating that "we need representatives who take their marching orders from  their Inland Empire constituents, not from the Mayor Antonio Villaragiosa," Assembly Republican candidate Phil Paule today questioned why  his opponent, Lake Elsinore Council Member Melissa Melendez, has sided with the City of Los Angeles on the issue local control of the Ontario Airport.

Liberty Quarry: Tomorrow's hearing could be the fateful day...

I hope I am wrong, but I have my doubts about the outcome of Tuesday's Riverside County Supervisors meeting about the proposed quarry.

I, like many other SW RivCo residents do not support this quarry being approved. I have done the quarry tour, spoke with many of the anti-quarry folks and long ago come to the conclusion that the quarry was a bad deal for the Temecula Valley area.

There are 5 Riverside County Supervisors. I get the impression from comments in the press and political rumor blogs that a couple of the Supervisors might very well vote yes to approve the quarry. I certainly hope Jeff Stone votes no. If Jeff Stone votes yes, that will not only most likely approve the quarry but it will certainly change the local political landscape.

As we come into the June 2012 election filing period for the Supervisor seat Stone holds, a vote yes to approve the quarry will almost certainly bring new candidates into the race. If Mr Stone has a desire to continue serving his district that includes all of the Temecula Valley, he needs to do the right thing and vote no on the quarry and passionately make the case for other County Supervisors to do the same.

SMOOZING WITH SUSAN

‘SHIT (FILL IN THE BLANK) PEOPLE SAY’ COMES TO T-TOWN
TemecuLA, CA – At present there is a craze sweeping the internet’s YouTube which started with that outer space Lothario who planted the first interracial kiss on television. I’m talking about none other than Captain James T. Kirk, ala William Shatner. After going where no man (on screen) had gone before since Othello (on stage), Bill Shatner has set the bar again by starring in the CBS sitcom $#*! My Dad Says, which is based on the Twitter feed ‘Shit My Dad Says’ created by Justin Halpern. This ‘Shit’ has morphed into a YouTube sensation that is sweeping the nation, and Temecula is leading the pack thanks to my Jewish New Yorker friend, Susan.

OBAMA’S GIRL TROUBLE

DOBIE GILLIS HE AIN’T
Temecula, CA – Recently I read and saw Obama in a photo op with the female governor of Arizona and it wasn’t pretty. Without knowing the word exchanges the picture looked like a condescending, opinionated man being dressed down by a pissed off woman, hence the finger in the face moment. Now I’ll be honest. I can’t stand Obama and I was the same about George Bush, Jr. Didn’t listen to the speeches and didn’t watch him on TV. It’s the same with Bo. To me, both are the bookends to the closing stages of America as a great nation, or the perception of a great nation. One was a dumbass ex-cokehead and one is intellectually arrogant. Some choice.

BIG DOGS VIVA VINO

A GYPSY KING SINGS IN OLD TOWN
Temecula, CA – Being the Saturday of the first month of the New Year seemed a good time for my latest LLWAP* adventure. As usual it all started with a phone call. I had been smoozing with Susan (see upcoming story of the same name) when the call came in from new friend Daphne, a name I hadn’t heard since Frasier or Scoobie-Doo. “Do you know The Gypsy Kings?” asked the excitedly seductive voice on other end of the cell phone. “I’ve heard of the name,” was my reply.
“Well the lead singer is singing tonight in Old Town. Do you feel like going dancing? Susan is coming with.” I think you know my answer.
