LAST LEGIT COON HUNTER, DAVY CROCKETT – (OPINION)
Temecula, LA – Maybe it was the time on the ground at Occupy LA, both in camp and out, or maybe it is just natural cynicism, probably a mix of both, but it seems that the official news spin is becoming more transparent to me. Though we all know that the news is spun, it is the spun spin that eludes many. Being inside OLA and reading the news reports that were spun about it and the way the whole affair was handled just opened my eyes, like I was Neo. Suddenly I could see past what the people were hearing, reading. The truth comes out and is then twisted on purpose. Trayvon Martin is just the latest case.
The rare thing about this nation is that the truth does come out like a kernel of corn in a dog turd. And like seeing that kernel, you know what it is as soon as you see it. It is the object of this publication and this reporter to enable the reader to have this same ability should he or she need it. For instance, how many of you reading this news story know that while I was sheltered down in the outdoor elements of City Hall with it being reported about how horrid our squalor was, the LA mayor and other dignitaries were having din-din from tables adorned with naked women like it was a Roman circus? (See LA Weekly archives and upcoming story, What Do You Say To A Naked Women At Dinner?)
The maid, an dark-skinned immigrant from Guinea, has insisted she was truthful about the encounter and is pursuing claims against Strauss-Kahn in a civil lawsuit. A hearing is set for Wednesday on Strauss-Kahn's claim that diplomatic immunity should insulate him from the lawsuit. Strauss-Kahn quit the IMF after the New York hotel maid said he sexually assaulted her in May 2011. The criminal charges were later dropped when prosecutors said the maid's testimony was deemed unreliable. Strauss-Kahn said the encounter was "inappropriate" but (he) insisted it wasn't violent.
In early March the former International Monetary Fund chief was bundled into the back of a police car to escape protesters after a speaking engagement at Britain's Cambridge University on Friday that angered women's rights activists. About 150 demonstrators, waving banners and chanting "2, 4, 6, 8, no more violence, no more rape" had circled the Cambridge Union Society where Strauss-Kahn delivered a speech on globalization and the Eurozone to a select group of students, future 0ne Percenters.
One student asked him to explain the vaginal bruising suffered by Nafissatou Diallo, the hotel maid behind the sexual assault allegations. In typical rich white racial arrogance he answered, "Young man, I would first have to travel down that road again to refresh my memory before I can answer your question".
As the French economist left, the angry crowd, shouting references to New York hotel maid Nafissatou Diallo who accused him of sexual assault, tried to scale barricades guarded by police and security officers set up ‘to protect and serve’ him. Placards were thrown at the car and protesters scuffled with officers as he was whisked away. "I don't think he should have been invited here to speak to students," student Morgan Wild, 23, told Reuters. "I think it's part of a crass PR campaign to rehabilitate his reputation and we shouldn't be taken for fools."
And just yesterday ex-IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn was handed preliminary charges alleging he was involved in a hotel prostitution ring in France. The French preliminary charges come two days before a New York court takes up a civil case in which a hotel maid accuses Strauss-Kahn of sexually assaulting her. Already in this case, eight people, including two Lille businessmen and a police commissioner, have been arrested, and construction firm Eiffage fired an executive suspected of using company funds to hire sex workers. The Lille case centers on allegations that a prostitution ring organized by Strauss-Kahn's business associates supplied clients at the city's Carlton Hotel.
The investigation on suspicion of complicity in a pimping operation move could lead to a trial but it falls short of charging him. His lawyer said the married, 62-year-old Strauss-Kahn engaged in "libertine" acts but did nothing legally wrong. Judges had the option of putting him under investigation for having potentially benefited from misappropriated company funds if he knowingly attended prostitute sessions paid for by his executive friends using expense accounts. Instead, the case against Strauss-Kahn hinges on whether he knew he was partying with prostitutes, and whose money was used to pay them.
Lawyers for the ex-IMF chief have acknowledged that he attended orgies. Prostitutes questioned in the case said they had sex with Strauss-Kahn during 2010 and 2011 at a luxury hotel in Paris, a restaurant in the French capital and also in Washington, D.C., where he lived while working for the Washington-based IMF. And that is the heart of the issue with DSK. He had access to all the poonanny he wanted anytime he dropped some Viagra or Cialis via his expense account but he took liberties with the maid because in racist circles a common held belief is that dark-skinned women can’t be raped because they are ‘animals’. (MSN story comment – “Of course it’s highly likely he really raped that maid. Law enforcement never even took that case seriously, presumably because of the racist assumption that black females cannot be raped.”) Sadly a percentage of non-white males also feel this way toward some women when in reality we are all animals, being directly related to but not descended from monkeys, chimps, and apes in particular and mammals in general.
So you might wonder how old Straussey manages to keep his balls off the guillotine. Strauss-Kahn's wife of two decades, renowned TV journalist Anne Sinclair, is now editor of the new French version of the Huffington Post website.
The very latest hatchet job was done on Jason Russell, a person who I met professionally covering the Invisible Children story for the Calendar crowd when it was the Full Value Review. I watched with disdain as the media shifted the voices quickly from KONY 2012 to the trolls’ questioning motives, then to the sensationalism caused by the mental breakdown resulting from it. All the ‘invisible children’ are dark-skinned and the village group aerial shot was revealing as the founders of Invisible Children posed with them. You see, Sports Fans, the ‘spin’ is that anyone in the so-called ‘press’ could have checked a program like Schools For Schools to see how transparent the organization is. All ‘the press’, the official press, can be counted on for these days, is to pass on the party line. The system isn’t broken; it’s fixed, in a ‘1984’ Logan’s Run kind of way, with the Occupiers as runners [of Truth]. As the Ron Paul ad says, [see story Etch A Sketch This], “(the) Freedom (of America) is new (in history); tyranny (in the world) is old.”
In a related way of news control to maintain status quo, a news story is ‘contained’ as the Company would put it. Put in B-boy slang, the media controllers ‘squash’ the story from national outlets. A case in point that has yet to be revealed ‘at large’ is that Jerry Sandusky will be shown to be a serial molester of mostly dark-skinned young disadvantaged youth, though he appears to have mixed it up in the later years with keeping it in the family via the grand-kids. A photo that now appears to have been scrubbed from the web showed that though the face was blurred out, the child in the group shot [‘victim #6’] is a dark-skinned youth. This is whose mother Sandusky said to in the recorded earshot of police after being cornered by a mother’s persistence, “I wish I was dead.” That mother is now being bullied out of the prosecution pool. This ‘red herring’ suppression to keep the racial information of the victims ‘contained’ was first reported here in the story Does Jerry Sandusky Has A Fetish For Brown Sugar?
But it is perhaps the latest dark skinned youth, a lad that BO himself said could resemble his own (in color pigment given his wife’s complexion); and the racial haters gave him shit over the comparison. This Martin shooting blowback is the reason for all the buzz about social networks being the new power movers and shakers.
Not since Crispus Attucks, identified as the first person killed in the name of freedom [but shot because as a dark-skinned man he stood out from his fellow white protestors], has a senseless killing so galvanized a nation as the world looks at us to see if we are moving beyond our recent history toward dark-skinned youth in the country. From my day the record is this:
In August 1955, Emmett Till, 14, (pictured left) was lynched in Mississippi while visiting relatives, reportedly for flirting with a white woman. He was dragged at gunpoint, was beaten and shot, his eye gouged out, and his body thrown into the Tallahatchie River — weighted down by a 70-pound cotton gin. Till’s corpse was badly mutilated, and his mother insisted on an open casket funeral to show the horrific crimes committed against her son. As Mrs. Till warned her son in Chicago before he went ‘down South’, “Be careful. If you have to get down on your knees and bow when a white person goes past, do it willingly.”
Till’s admitted abductors, two white men, were tried and acquitted of murdering and kidnapping by a jury of their white peers. They later confessed to the crime in a magazine interview. In death, the Chicago teen was a flashpoint in the civil rights movement, placing the spotlight on the treatment of black people in Mississippi. Both Ebony and Jet Magazines regularly carried news and photo coverage but there wasn’t a large white media coverage beyond what was neutral like some of the Martin coverage. I do remember the mother being criticized in the white press for having the funeral ‘open casket’.
In 1963, four black school age girls were killed in the bombing of the 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama by the local Klu Klux Klan. The bombing sparked nationwide condemnation, and was a factor leading to the enactment of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Most of the gang who carried out the bombing lived a free life though it is supposed that many local people there may have suspected the true culprits. Any big southern town is really two ethic identities, each with its own pecking order, cough, separate but equal.
Michael Griffith, 23, was hit by a car and killed in Howard Beach, New York in 1986. A mob of over 10 white teens had chased Griffith onto a highway after beating him and his friends. (Not sure of criminal outcome – Ed)
Black teen Yusef Hawkins, was shot to death in 1989 after being attacked by a mob of white youths in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn. The killing, which reflected New York’s racial tensions, galvanized the civil rights community and led to the defeat of Mayor Ed Koch in his reelection bid. (Not sure of criminal outcome – Ed)
Amadou Diallo, 23, was killed by four plainclothes NYPD officers who believed his wallet was a gun. The officers admitting they fired 41 shots at the dark-skinned Guinean immigrant. The 1999 Diallo shooting galvanized the anti-police brutality movement in New York and around the country, leading to the over 1,700 arrests in mass protests. The officers walked.
Sean Bell, 23, was killed by undercover and plainclothes NYPD police officers in a hail of 50 bullets in 2006. The officers, who were acquitted of all charges, said they believed Bell and his friends were armed when they shot at their car.
On New Year’s Day in 2009, Oscar Grant, 23, was shot in the back in a San Francisco BARTstation, face- down and execution-style, as police officers stood over him. The shooting was recorded by bystanders and within hours videos of the incident were posted online showing Mehserle firing a bullet into the back of Grant as he lay face down after being pulled off a train, supposedly for fighting. Former BART officer Johannes Mehserle, 29, was convicted in 2010 of involuntary manslaughter for fatally shooting Grant on an Oakland train station platform on New Year's Day in 2009. Mehserle was released June 2011 after serving one year in Los Angeles jail after his high-profile trial was moved to Southern California.
In September 2011, the state of Georgia, (just voted the Nation’s most corrupt State MSN 3/27/12 story) executed Troy Davis, a black Savannah resident who was convicted of murdering a white police officer in 1989 when he was a dark-skinned teenage youth not much older than Trayvon Martin. The Troy Davis case received worldwide attention in light of evidence pointing to his innocence, including 7 of 9 eyewitnesses recanting or contradicting their testimony. Over 1 million people signed a petition to stop his execution. Civil rights and anti-death penalty activists view the execution of Troy Davis as a turning point in the use of the death penalty in the United States. Yet the state, composed of both black and white parole board members, still fried Davis up like some sugar cured bacon.
And now the spotlight is on the Sunshine State, where apparently it has become easy to purchase a gun and kill innocent black youth. In 2005, then-Florida Governor Jeb Bush* signed the state’s “Stand Your Ground” law – the first in the nation and the reason stated as to why Zimmerman has not yet been arrested.
The law eliminates centuries old legal precedent by allowing citizens to use deadly force without retreating when they feel threatened outside the home. Critics maintain that the law, which exists in at 24 states, encourages people to shoot first and claim self-defense, promoting a Wild West mentality and racial vigilantism. For more on this occurrence, please research killings happening on Indian reservations outside California.
The National Rifle Association, the powerful gun lobby, and the conservative American Legislative Exchange Council are pushing for Stand Your Ground laws in all 50 states while turning their backs on medical marijuana state approved patients who now have their Second Amendment right stolen from them by the Obama Administration (see recent archive story).
Fast forward 57 years past Till and Trayvon Martin is having a large impact on the nation’s psyche. The racial implications of the Martin killing are clear and now all the famous closet bigots, like secret pedophiles, are being spotlighted in their closets by the comments that fall from their mouths. Tuesday afternoon, Geraldo Rivera made it clear on his radio show that he wasn't apologizing for linking Martin's hoodie to his slaying.
"I apologize for hurting people's feelings. I don't back down from my message," Rivera said. " ... Don't be a 911 call waiting to happen." (But it's alright if I wear my hoodie since I'm not a young Afro-American. What a bigoted hypocrite.-ED)
Last week on "Fox & Friends," Rivera stated that "I think the hoodie is as much responsible for Trayvon Martin’s death as George Zimmerman was." Rivera later acknowledged that his own son was "ashamed" of him for stating that. Although described by his father as “a Spanish-speaking minority with many black family members and friends,” Zimmerman is heard in the 911 call declaring “fucking coons.” Any person who utters that anyone black is a ‘fucking coon’ is a fucking bigot who has separated his friends who happen to be African-American from the rest of the niggers as folks who are not ‘niggers’. How do I know this? Marijuana cures prejudice.
Trayvon Martin’s killing continues to expose the problems dark-skinned black men face, the low priority they are assigned as 'black' victims, and the unfair treatment they face at the hands of the police and in the justice system. But Trayvon’s murder is also showing us and Jesus, just who the ‘wise bridesmaids’ are. Even Newt Gingrich and Michelle Bachmann saw this for what it really is. A man armed with a 9MM shot and killed an unarmed teenager wearing a hoodie over his head because it was raining! after tracking him like an animal. For the rest of us
we see that George Zimmerman decided that he wanted to go ‘coon hunting’ and he bagged his first. Let’s hope he takes his bragging rights to cell block D where he will be welcomed by his white Hispanic gang-bangers, as ‘the Man’ has created a racist ‘divide and conquer’ prison system, privatized for the maximum profit.
As you stand back and see the world, the drama and the system, you really have to wonder if the opinion piece Is God A Redneck? has merit, especially when you see that 11:00 Sunday morning is the most segregated time in the south, still! For the startling next chapter to that story, see the upcoming religious piece, Who Made The Moon?
