Temecula, CA – It feels good to be back after being on assignment so here’s some things that you might not be aware of. Afroman is returning to the Twisted Kilt in April after hosting a sold out SRO Christmas show there. Lee Koch joins the list of old school Full Value Entertainment music show artists hitting the small screen. He has joined the cast tryouts on The Voice. Sam Larsen, another FVE alumnus, can be currently seen on Glee doing a seven show character story arc. All of us in the local music scene are proud to see one of our family of artists grow past this talented valley. More after the jump.
Coming up in the next few days are stories about comic books, art made between streets [no, it isn’t what you think], the latest Band Wars finale, and more, but first, if you don’t watch the Today show or aren’t in the 18-24 concerned youth demo, you may have missed out on the latest YouTube sensation, the Invisible Children film about Joseph Kony. At the Today show airing the video had over 50,000,000 hits, so allow me to propose the following scenario.
Obama is an odds on favorite in the upcoming election, thus far, largely in part to running against the Marx Brothers of politics. Any smart politician and one related to Dick Cheney especially, should smell an opportunity to further embarrass the opposing field. That ‘opportunity’ would be the killing [and beheading] of Joseph Kony, the leader of the Lord’s Resistance Army and slaughterer of children, see If you read or watch the story, you understand the call for this action. Here's a link to help become a part of the action.
Through diligent action by IC, other cause names, and Hollywood artists, pressure and exposure brought for a decree, then a warrant, and lastly, 100 boots on the ground to pursue and terminate the reign of terror from this abuser of mankind, dispatched personally by Obama. Now with this rebirth of Invisible Children and the recent mainstream media attention, will Obama pull a ‘Bring me the head of Elfago Baca’ to show that he is the man? WOTS has it that Kony is down to about 225 fighter/followers and is on the run. Thanks to the solar powered communication network that IC sponsored through a program, the remote villages can stay in touch and hopefully a step ahead of his brutality. So the question before you is: can a smooth Chicagoland boss best a Southside junkyard dog raised on gunpowder?
While we wait for the answer to play out, here is the IC video that now has over 67,000,000 hits.
