Temecula, CA – Picking up today’s The Weekly I saw the headline “Growers Push Back on Plans” and perused the article. It was worse than I thought. You see Sports Fans, Occupy was the herald of the day to come. Unless you were there or read a report that came out of an Occupy camp-there were several at Occupy LA though the Calendar was the only one I plugged, well duh-it was impossible to understand that a central Occupy tenet was, “they are coming for you next, just like in Nazi Germany. We are not coal mine canaries, we are the torch bearers*.”

Liberty Quarry, after being defeated in obtaining the necessary approval for their gravel pit went to the county with an 'agency capture' bribe disguised as a fee. The county supes, 3 of them, went for it. Now Liberty Quarry not only gets a second chance to override the majority of the locals, they get it ‘fast-tracked’.

The Weekly headline story says that the church, Calvary Chapel, has given the county a grant of $100,000 to get approval to override the wishes of the winegrowers, a burgeoning tourist industry even our local ‘Yankees’** are heavily invested in.

In a story broken in this region here only a few days ago, the Trans-Canadian XL Keystone pipeline has begun construction over the protests of the local Native Americans and white landowners.

The battle against the 0ne Percent, the Monopoly Game man and what he represents, which is anything but a game, is currently being waged by one percent of the rest of the people. The 98% in the middle, the wine growers and the people of this valley for instance, will one day come to understand what Occupy knows. You are either in the 0ne Percent bunch, or with the 99%ers, whether you want to be or not. It is as simple as that with the rich and always has been, you commoner. Why do you think the forefathers gathered round the tagline, “If we don’t all hang together, we’ll all hang separately.”

Good Luck Growers and Good Luck ‘NO Quarry’ers. There was a time when the motto ‘money talks and bullshit walks’ was true. That time has changed. Now with money as speech and Citizens United, it’s ‘money talks but shit rolls down hill’. One percent stand at the top of a hill or pyramid, we learned that in math class.
