HOLY BALLS OF FIRE

DID THE CATHOLIC CHURCH TRY TO VOID MALACHY PREDICTION?

Temecula, CA - 'Saint Malachy and Nostradamus, two reasonably accurate prophets are apparently joining forces. The possible consequences of Benedict XVL's abdication have shaken up not only Catholics, but those who feel that there are umbrella events in Earth’s history which can be predicted. The future can be shown to a few individuals when a future event is all-important, a milestone for us all. So did the Catholic Church try to avoid the twin prophecies?

The easy answer is, “Yes!” The prophecies of Nostradamus and Saint Malachy were seemingly proven wrong when the Catholic cardinals chose Jorge Mario Bergoglio, Archbishop of Argentina, as the new Pope. At first glance, there appears to be no connection between Pope Francis I and the famous (or infamous), prophecies that Peter Romanus would be the last pope as “two suns” blaze in the sky (Comet ISON).

Would it be stretching to say that perhaps the cardinals were obviously aware of the prophecies, and so purposely chose someone who did not fit the predictions so as to protect their church from falling or at least, becoming the object of the mystical fear involved in the end of the world?

However, there are a few “stretches” which DO connect Pope Francis I with the prophecies. I am not championing any of these arguments! On the other hand, it could be that stronger connections will be found in time – the new pope was just elected on March 13, 2013.
Here are a few thoughts on possible connections by by Diane Tessman:

The name of Francis was considered the same way as Peter, not to be used as the name of a pope. A major point of Malachy’s prophecy was that the last pope would cast aside this taboo and take a name not-used.  Perhaps this Pope taking the name Francis is a convoluted fulfillment of the prophecy. Granted, this is a reach.

Another possibility:  Nostradamus mentions the first "black pope" as the last pope. The head of the Jesuits (who is not Bergoglio), is referred to as “the black pope” because Jesuits have a large influence in Catholicism even though popes are traditionally not Jesuit. The Jesuits wear black robes, not white. Pope Francis is one of the very few Jesuit popes.

Regarding Pope Francis being Roman: This pope is descended from Italian immigrants, but so are millions of other people. However, the fact remains, Jorge Mario Bergoglio was born in Buenos Aires, one of the five children of Italian immigrants, so he is Italian/Roman by heritage. Thus the “Romanus” of Peter Romanus prophecy.  Also, Francis the First was a Roman emperor.

(According to some ‘weather balloon’ scholars, there was no Petrus Romanus  (Peter the Roman)  in the original St. Malachy prophecy. The original prophecy ended with Gloria Olivae, Glory of the Olive. This 112th Pope was added by a historian in the 1590s when the prophecy was first published, see this back story).

Forging on, here are some more details as to why these prophecies might be right regarding Pope Francis, after all:
Assisi is known for Rocca Maggiore, which means Big Rock, which is the meaning of the name “Peter,”
So, Pope Francis is named for Francis of Assisi – Francis of Big Rock.

Nostradamus’ Quatrain 49:

Nul de l’Espaigne mais de l’antique France,

Ne sera esleu pour le tremblant nacelle,
A l’ennemy sera faicte fiance,
Qui dans son regne sera peste cruelle.

Not from Spain but from ancient France,
Will be elected for the trembling ship [the Bark of St. Peter],
He will make a promise to the enemy*,
Who will cause great plague* during his reign.

Pope Francis’ parents are from Turin, which happens to be ancient France (Lombards and Charlemagne). Argentina apparently means “Old Spain,” so Francis is not from Argentina but “ancient France” – true if one is speaking of his ancestors. More recently, his ancestors came from Rome/Italy, of course, so the new pope’s heritage is Roman/Italian.

Beyond this obscure thought is the fact that “berg” in German means “mountain” (but not in Latin or Italian).  And a mountain is also a rock when speaking symbolically (The Rock). It is true that with old phrasing, we are dealing with several languages including Latin, so some leeway needs to be given.

The new pope chose "Francis," referring to St. Francis of Assisi. St. Francis of Assisi's birth name was "Giovanni Francesco di PIETRO Bernardone. St. Francis' original name included “Peter.”

Saint Malachy and Nostradamus’ prophecies are always confusing and cryptic. They never mention the exact names of any of the popes so we can perhaps assume Malachy would not have given the exact name of the last pope. Are any of these confusing ideas above what Malachy and Nostradamus’ really meant?

I repeat: I am not trying to give a courtroom defense of these men’s prophecies. It honestly seems to me that they were wrong but the “magical” thing about prophecies is their obscure references and mystical atmosphere “protect them” from ever being wrong.

Nostradamus’ quatrains are confusing and open to many interpretations but we do know that Comet ISON is coming, and we do know that Pope Benedict resigned. These facts beckon us to take a second look at some mystical and foreboding prophecies.

 This is Nostradamus’ Quatrain VI.6:

There will appear towards the North
Not far from Cancer the bearded star:
Susa, Siena, Boeotia, Eretria,
The great one of Rome will die, the night over.

As of February 28, 2013, Pope Benedict did resign. Saint Malachy, born in Armagh, Ireland, in 1094, journeyed from Ireland to Rome and prophesied that a new pope, to be born far into the future, will be the last pope before the end times on Earth.

Next, Nostradamus prophesied that this (new) pope will flee Rome in the month of December, when the Great Comet is seen in the daytime. Nostradamus said that the Sun will appear to double. “The sky will display two suns.” Yes, Comet ISON is on the way!

Comet ISON will be visible in our skies for a full two months, November and December 2013. We will probably see Comet ISON and its 40,000-mile-long tail at night and in the daytime!

However, my thoughts would be that perhaps an UFO/Alien Disclosure will occur during the reign of the last pope. Maybe even UFO landings will occur! Could this be what Malachy and Nostradamus saw but perhaps could not put into terms which they or we would understand?

The science department of the Vatican has given a welcome to extraterrestrials, stating that life-forms outside of Earth are God’s children, too. So perhaps it is not the End Times for Earth which are prophesied but instead, the end of the Roman Catholic Church as we have known it since the Dark Ages. Perhaps it will be replaced with a new, enlightened Church which will have a place in welcoming extraterrestrials* to Earth as honored, peaceful visitors.'
