LAND OF THE FRAMED, HOME OF THE SEE SOMETHING

THE FUTURE LOOKS DIM, er WITTED, THAT IS

Temecula, CA – As the latest posts pulled from page circulation on the Huffington Post, this time being everything about 14 year old Ahmed Mohamed, the moronic absurdness of the situation may be the reason for this dump. Granted everyone is on edge given the state of the world but here's the rub, and where the idea of institutionalized racism comes into play.

The following is a quote: 'when he showed his English teacher the clock, she suggested it looked like a bomb.

"I told her, 'It doesn't look like a bomb to me,'" Ahmed said.

In a meeting with the principal, school staff continued to question the ninth-grader. "They were like, 'So you tried to make a bomb?'" Ahmed told the newspaper.

"I told them no, I was trying to make a clock."

"He said, 'It looks like a movie bomb to me.'"

"The officers pretty quickly determined that they weren't investigating an explosive device," police chief Larry Boyd told MSNBC on Thursday.  They now emphasize that they knew 14-year-old Ahmed Mohamed hadn't brought a bomb to high school when they slapped cuffs on him and took him to juvenile detention earlier this week. So the question remains why take the kid in at all, if not racism?

But what can you expect when a once front-runner Presidential candidate answers what woman should be on an American $10 bill, and he answers, “Margaret Thatcher.” Serve up some more of them tacos to go, wou'dya, Jeb? I think some more of your donors are getting ready to leave the building.

Dr. Carson, last week's second-ran, lost traction again by this time shooting himself in the nurse's stethoscope with unfavorable remarks about Muslims ever becoming President. It used to be that politics was about how many different groups you could appeal to. Now it seems you limit your appeal to the single largest common denominator, the football to the groin approach.

Donald Trump cemented his front runner lead and the Republican's answer to Hillary Clinton jumped into second place. Carly Fiorina emerged as the Lady of the House for Donald's side while The Don sidestepped questions about his old beef with Obama and his birth certificate. Why not, he's not running against Obama so that is no longer pertinent to the argument.

Over on the Demo side, the news appears to have gone dark for dark horse for Leonard the Less, the law professor from Harvard. The fans and the press are ready to take out the IVs from Biden's bid to run and at last count, Hillary is starting to sag and bag as her campaign seems to have the luster of being on a treadmill, where people watching are sweating to the oldies. A count on HuffPost's political page finds 7, count them, 7 stories against 4 where Hillary is the lead.

Everywhere Bernie goes, he gets a crowd,

everywhere Hillary goes, it's crickets.

It won't be long before Bernie gets big. Already a 'Weekend At Bernie's' reference has appeared lately, with mine being the first, plus Bernie's name has graced the pages of the LA Progressive, so Bernie's name is getting around. For the South, Bernie, the key is healthcare and better Social Security, advanced study of elder care and cannabis; even old white crackers soften to warm apple cider. The trick to the South for Bernie is to look past the race question and show those whites that he also has their best interest at heart being an old person himself.

On the big picture, the future looks bright for Ahmed who got a silk purse from a sow's earful.
