IN LIKE A LION -
BSC, CA – Before the New Year starts, already the buzz is out and this time I am not talking about the cannabis industry. On New Year's Day evening, Ye Old Editor will be heading up to Sacramento for a massive gathering of voices against glyphosate, the active poison in Round Up, now listed with a Prop 65 label. Unlike Obama's QR codes which came and went without notice this label carries weight and no mumbo-jumbo. Obama whooo? My feet don't fit no limbs.
This latest protest move to awaken a sleeping/agency-captured state government comes via The California Guild, a coalition of local small town ag community social organizations that arose from the Monsanto meltdown around Prop 37 and its engineered defeat at the poles. In the aftermath from that momentous grassroots effort by the various strata of concerned parents and farmers, the latest billboard side on the Albertson's Supermarket truck trailers that touts 'Organic*' is prove our pocketbook voice has been echoed by other parents and farmers.
Coming just 3 days into the brand new year, this mega-protest will be drawing some old campaign mates not personally seen since the Prop days, as speakers. Also on the program are the latest community updates as more cities move to stop using the cancer causing Glyphosate found exclusively in Monsanto's Roundup weed killer. But it won't be all doom and gloom either. Homespun down home Americana will again be provided by the California Guild's musical members. How down home is it? It's so down home we provide a second** key shot to close out this story.
